It is with sadness that the family of Joseph Edward LaClaire announce his passing on April 29, 2014 in Prince Albert. SK. Ed was born May 20, 1925 in Shellbrook and leaves to mourn his beloved wife Lucille; daughter Louise (Glenn) Verklan, Marilyn Nilson; sons Glenn, Richard (Corinna); as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his infant son Kenneth Earl and his son-in-law Greg Nilson. Ed was a veteran who served overseas in WWII. He enjoyed an extensive career as a pilot, aircraft engineer and instructor. The Saskatchewan Aviation Council honoured Ed with the Distinguished Airman Award in 2012 which he was very proud of. He was well known in the community for his musical talents where he entertained playing his accordion. At Ed’s request there will be no funeral. There will be a private family service at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
