Joseph Dusseault
1944 ~ 2023

Joseph Edward Dusseault passed on September 15, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., at the age of 79 at Victoria Hospital, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, after his brief battle with Cancer, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Clara; their children, Roger (Susan), Jodi (Anthony) Andrews, Edward (Heather), and Jackie (Daniel) Valois; grandchildren, Madison and Ethan, Taiya and Korbin, Julian and Cailyn, and Brieanna, Kaydence and Kaycia.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mable; his brother, Robert; and his son, Mark.

Joseph, known as Joe, was born on July 14, 1944, in Yellowknife, North West Territories, to Edward and Mable Dusseault. He was the 2nd of 5 children, older sister Sylvianne, younger brothers Raymond and Robert and youngest sister Debbie.

Joe’s Family moved to Uranium City in 1953, starting Dusseault’s Transport, where he learned to drive trucks and tractor trailers, eventually earning his 1A License.

He met Clara Blanche Lafferty in 1965, dating for 2 years and then married on September 2, 1967, in Uranium City; together for 58 years and married for 56 of them.

Joe played and travelled for softball, was an avid outdoorsman who hunted, fished and snowmobiled. One of his main passions was Stock Car Racing, which he started doing in the Summer of 1968, combining his love for driving, fixing and modifying vehicles.

He went to SIAST Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon for school and training in Automotive Mechanics and later for Heavy Duty Mechanics.

Joseph stated to work for Eldorado Nuclear in as a Heavy-Duty mechanic until it’s closure in 1984, moving to Prince Albert and then started working for Cameco at Key Lake as a Heavy-Duty Operator until his retirement in 2012.

The Memorial Service for Joe will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the River Park Funeral Home, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, SK, with Father Manh Nguyen officiating.
