John Wesley Stapleton passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the age of 84 years. He was born on February 19, 1929 at Paddockwood, SK. John lost both his parents at a very young age and was cared for by his sister Mary. John worked for the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division for close to 30 years. He was a humble man who never looked for praise, he truly loved his job. He enjoyed teasing all the children at the various schools as well. John was honoured with a retirement party he never saw coming and that made his day. When Dad retired, his time was spent with the company of his grandchildren and then his great-grandchildren. His grandchildren loved his teasing, they never knew what to expect when they phoned or visited him. Dad was a faithful soap opera fan all his life. He was an avid gardener and his children and grandchildren were welcome to take whatever they needed. His weekends consisted of Tommy Hunter, Ponderosa and Hockey when he was younger and then he loved watching movies when he got older especially John Wayne. His favorite song was “To Sir With Love”, he cried every time he watched that movie. Dad’s love was unconditional for his entire family. He was proud when his youngest daughter Linda accompanied him to all his doctor appointments and ensured he stayed in his home like he wanted to until the end. John is survived by his loving family: his wife of 59 years Charlotte; his three sons John (Shona), Wilfred (Connie) and Donald; his four daughters Margaret, Joyce (Alvin), Debbie (Dave) and Linda; his 12 grandchildren; his 16 great-grandchildren; his sister Mary Albers as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Charlie; his twin daughters Kathy and Connie in infancy; his parents Margaret and Charles Stapleton; his brothers Bob, Gil, Charlie; Charlotte’s parents Lydia and Daniel Cook; his brothers-in-law John Albers and Wilfred Cook. As per Dad’s request there will be no funeral. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Colette Kadziolka, Funeral Director
