John Albert Petty

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Albert Petty, who passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2026, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at the age of 63.

Born September 17, 1962, John was the eldest son in a family of twelve. A welder by trade, he was known for his strong work ethic and his willingness to help anyone in need—he truly had a heart of gold.

John was a proud father to his daughters, Emily Lavallee and Charity Jahn. He was predeceased by his daughter, Brianne Lavallee. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him.

He was also a devoted Edmonton Oilers fan and rarely missed a game.

John was predeceased by his mother, Lorna Gunn; father, Jack Petty; daughter, Brianne Lavallee; sisters, Pearl Robins and Shirley Petty; brother, Martin Petty; and his grandparents, Irene and Albert Demerais, and Catherine and John Petty.

He will be deeply missed by his family, grandchildren, and many friends.
