John Arnold Owen

Sept. 7, 1936 – July 5, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Arnold Owen on July 5, 2025, at the age of 88.  Born on his family’s homestead  September 7, 1936, John grew up with a strong connection to the land and an appreciation for the simple, meaningful things in life.  He dedicated 26 years of service to the Sask. Penitentiary, where he worked with integrity and quiet strength until his retirement in 1991.

John was a man of many passions. He found joy in the outdoors-especially while fishing, hunting and spending time surrounded by nature.  His greatest pride, however, was his family. John was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Myrna, and he cherished every moment with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His sense of humor and warm spirit brought laughter and light to those around him.

John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Myrna; his children, Brad (Tracey) Owen and Jackie (Kip) Walters;  his grandchildren, Dallas (Tara), Mitchell, Brooks (Alicia) Owen, and their mother Lisa;  Darrellynn (Lenny) Gaudet, Caitlin (Kade) Thompson, Taylor (Rozlin) Owen, Jade (Sean) Gaudet, Meghan (Andrew) Murray, plus 11 great grandchildren; his sister, Joan Gaudet and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son, Trevor and grandson, Christopher.

Johns legacy lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Calvary United Church, 114  25th Street East, Prince Albert.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of John may be made to the Rose Garden Hospice, 500 – 38th St. West, Prince Albert, SK S6W 0A3   rosegardenhospice.ca.  Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.
