February 15, 1944 – March 22, 2023
It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of John Hosak on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Central Haven Special Care Home in Saskatoon, SK. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Margery (nee Jurgens), his daughter Rachelle (Chad) Kosokowsky, and his grandson, Emmitt. He was proceeded by his brother, Albert Hosak, and parents. John was born in Hafford, SK on February 15, 1944 to Michael and Olga Hosak. After high school he worked as a grain buyer for two years before entering the police force in North Battleford. Two years later, he was hired by the Prince Albert Police Department, where he was employed for 28 years before retiring. John met Marge in 1978 and began dating a year later. They were married October 9, 1982 at St. Michael’s Parish. Their daughter, Rachelle, was born two years later. Other than his family, John’s greatest loves were music, fishing, and being around others. John played the bass guitar in his high school band, The Rock A Teens, and most recently, the all-occasion dance band, Nite Fire. John loved to spend weekends on the pontoon boat, cruising and snoozing on the lakes. John was the life of the party, always having a joke on-hand to tell others to “give them my name, you’ll get a good seat”. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. Michael’s Parish (1505 13th Street West, Prince Albert). Rite of Committal to follow the service at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. Ali Rajput Endowment for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Research via the Royal University Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Aime Laventure-Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200. To share memories of John or send condolences please visit www.mourningglory.ca
