John “JACK” Greening. Oct. 4, 1922 – April 15, 2011. Mr. Jack Greening of Anglin Lake, Saskatchewan, (formerly of Prince Albert and Saskatoon), went home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His death occurred in the Palliative Care Ward of St. Paul’s Hospital in the late afternoon of Friday, April 15, 2011, after a short illness. He was 88 years of age. Jack will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife of 61 years, Alice (nee Jacobsen) of Anglin Lake; their daughter, Debbie and Grandson, Dylan of Anglin Lake; daughter Barb (Doug Caswell and sons Robbie and Stevie) of Saskatoon and special son-in-law and friend Tim M. Dodds of Saskatoon. Jack was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Winnifred and two brothers; Richard of Courtney, BC, and George of Prince Albert, SK. Jack will be fondly remembered by countless friends and relatives whose lives he deeply touched with his unique style. Born in Prince Albert, Jack went on to do many things in his life, but his proudest achievements were his work in the field of Driver Education. Perhaps his greatest legacy to the province will be his work in the specific area of Driver Impairment and Addictions. The years Jack spent operating Land of the Loon Resort along with his family gave him the opportunity to share his love of nature with people from many countries. Jack was able to positively influence much of the world around him with his involvement in many proactive organizations and he dedicated much of his time to ensuring the health and safety of others. He was a man who wanted to improve things and he truly loved people. He cherished the planet we exist on, and the creatures we share it with. The call of the loon will always bring thoughts of Jack. His love of nature and his life amongst it is what he will be remembered most for, by his family.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the 5th floor of St. Paul’s Hospital (Med, Surgical and Palliative wards) for the care and warmth they gave to Jack and his family during this difficult time. The Funeral Service for Jack will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1796 15th Ave. Prince Albert, on Saturday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dan Haugen. A private family internment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the Palliative Care Unit of St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, or the The Rose Garden Hospice RR 5, Site 22, Box 2 Prince Albert S6V 5R3 in memory of Jack.
