As he grew older, he traveled throughout western Canada leading him to eventually settled down in Prince Albert. During his tenure on Earth, charity was of great importance to Johnny. He gave generously to many different organizations and he was especially proud to help World Vision offer necessary resources to children in need in other countries. While living a simple life, he was able to donate a significant amount of his small income to help those in need, whether it was giving groceries to the Prince Albert Food Bank, offering generous donations to the Salvation Army, or ensuring that he gave to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. These are only a few of the organizations to which he gave generously, and so many people have benefitted from the charity he offered to others. He had a genuine Christian heart and he spent his life giving anything extra he had.
