John Charles Armitage, known as “Jack to friends and family, passed away peacefully at 8:52 am on Monday, September 5, 2016. Jack was born on a farm in the vicinity of Wauchope, SK to his parents, John Edward and Daisy Armitage. He was the oldest boy and the 5th child of nine, after Jean, Myrna, Doris and Daisy and before Bonnie, George, Neill and Colleen. Jack was a long time resident of Prince Albert. He was at various times a teacher, principal, farmer and an all-around jack of all trades. He served for a number of years as the Prince Albert Wheat Pool delegate. He was at all times an avid and accomplished golfer and curler and a committed member of the Prince Albert Cosmopolitan Club. He was predeceased by his wife Bev; his father John Edward Armitage; his mother Daisy Armitage and his siblings Jean Walker, Neill Armitage and Myrna Foster. He is survived by and sadly missed by his remaining siblings and his children John Darren Armitage, Trenton Scott Armitage, Teri Leah Armitage and Shannon Armitage. Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
