It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joanne Carol Eikland after a sudden and brief battle with cancer.
Joanne Carol Peet was born to Dennis and Shirley Peet, raised in the North Battleford and Prince Albert areas of Saskatchewan. Joanne went to high school in P.A. and went on to work for the school district as an Educational Assistant, specializing in Developmental Ed. Joanne went on to raise her three children in the Wild Rose district near Shellbrook, where she was deeply involved in the community of Wild Rose. She loved being at all the community events and always brought an extra kid or two along for the ride. Her house was very much a house where a lot of her kid’s friends would stop in and have a visit and fill their bellies. It was a second home to many kids in the community.
Joanne was predeceased by her brother, Ken; and her mother, Shirley. She is survived by her children, Michelle Kurulak, Meagan Eikland and McKenzie (Buddy) Eikland; her 4 grandchildren, Hayden, Isabella, Brianna, and Ayla.
Joanne was a wonderful grandmother, mother, sister, and friend to so many. She always put the needs of others ahead of her own and in this way touched so many lives with her huge open heart and generous spirit. She will live in our hearts and memories forever!
The Funeral Service for Joanne will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at https://www.arbormemorial.ca/en/riverpark/obituaries/joanne-eikland/64006 . Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, (306) 764-2727, Michelle Brown, Funeral Director.
