February 5, 1946-September 28, 2022.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Joan (Dodi) Bond announce her passing on September 28, 2022 at the age of 76. She passed away peacefully at her home in Saskatoon, surrounded by her family.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband Steen, daughter Jacqui (Troy) son Duane (Rhonda) her grandchildren Cole, Zachary, (Regan) Tyson, Daynna (Jordan), Layne and Justin, and her great granddaughter Paxtyn. Her sister Donna (Raymond), her sister-in-law Lorraine, her brother-in-Law Ole (Jane) as well as many very special nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her father Arnold, her mother Fanny, her brothers Bill and Bob, and her mother-in-law Esther.
Joan was a hard-working woman with a smile as big as her heart. She was born in Prince Albert in 1946, and was raised in Saskatoon. Joan enjoyed a career of 35+ years at Sask-Tel in Prince Albert, starting as an operator, moving to the business office, and ending her time in construction. After her “retirement”, Joan spent several years operating the family businesses of Mr. Sub and Diggers Roadhouse in Prince Albert. She also spent a few years at Econo Lumber working alongside her daughter.
Dodi, as she was known by her family, enjoyed many summers with her children and grandchildren at Memorial Lake. She was a member of the Kinette club in Prince Albert and met many people through her work and her businesses. She enjoyed travelling with Steen, her daughter, and her sister, and loved sitting on her deck in the sun reading a good book. Joan loved evenings spent in her favorite armchair watching TV with Steen, and days spent shopping with her sister.
Joan’s greatest joy was to look after people especially those she loved. She was happiest spending time with and taking care of her family. Mom enjoyed her life to the fullest and made the most of every day. She will be missed by all who knew her, but most especially by her family.
At Joan’s request there will be no Funeral, a Celebration of her life will be held by her family.
