It is with extreme grief and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father, grandfather and loving husband Jim (James) Walter Rechenmacher, age 66, on Saturday September 12, 2015. Dad was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on June 21, 1949 to the late Walter and Marion Rechenmacher. Dad graduated from St. Mary High School in 1967 where he developed a strong passion for the game of football. On February 13th, 1988 Dad married his very best friend Sue (nee Button). Dad was a loyal, devoted husband and absolutely adored Sue. Dad was enchanted by all his children, Vanessa (Vince Ethier); Jesse Mckay; Mike (Rebecca); Melissa; and Ben. Dad had an undying love and endearment for all his family members and close friends. He loved Christmas and the opportunities for family to get together. Dad’s deep endearment for his grandchildren was obvious. He was a loud cheering fan in the crowd at football games and would play house, dolls and sing along with his sweet granddaughters. Dad was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Canadiens. He never missed watching a game with Sue and they would cheer, critique and ref the game at the same time! Dad was also a very devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held his faith in God in the highest regard. At the time of Dad’s passing he was a school bus driver which he thoroughly enjoyed as he loved conversing with children. Dad was known for his awesome sense of humour and his boisterous laugh! He was so much fun to be around and had the biggest beautiful smile. And lastly but definitely not least, Dad was a great friend, and had many lifelong friends that he remained close with. Dad is survived by his wife Sue; his children, Vanessa, Jesse, Mike, Melissa and Ben; his grandchildren Brandon, Bryce, Joel, Logan, Emily, Noah, Emily, Gavin, Cambria, Adalyn and Taya; his brothers Bill Rechenmacher (Judy) and Murray Bantle (Lynn); his sister Sharon Fleming (Marc); his brother-in-law Bruce Button (Kathy); his sisters-in-law Marilyn Tumback (Dana) and Jennifer Hubel (Ken); his mother and father-in-law Len and Gwen Button; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many very dear friends with special mention to Al Mardell.
