Jim Glabus

It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Glabus announce his passing on May 22, 2022, at the age of 70 years. Jim was born in Regina, SK, on March 5, 1952, and moved to Prince Albert as a young child. He attended St. Mary High School and Prince Albert Collegiate Institute. He began his career in Corrections at the Federal Penitentiary, followed by the Provincial Correctional Centre, and finally at Pinegrove Correctional Centre. Jim loved golf and camping, but his greatest joy was being a father to Lindsey, and grandfather to Josh and Emily. He was at his best when playing and spending time with Lindsey, Josh and Em.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Lucie; his daughter, Lindsey; his grandson, Joshua; his sister, Rose (Jack) Cowan, Cliff (Barb) Krivak, and Rose and Cliff’s children, Kim and Carolyn; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helene (Gerry) Lareau and their children, Michelle, Cheryl (Alan) and daughter, Avery; his brother-in-law, Wilf (Irene) Savisky, and children, Valerie and Charlene; his sister-in-law, Leona Podolecki, and children, Chris and Pam; his brother Ernie’s children, Doug, Don and Bev; and his brother-in-law, Dennis (Joy) Karras and their children, Leslie, Laurie and Darnel. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Mary Podolecki; his granddaughter, Emily Glabus; his brothers, Ernie Podolecki and Emil Podolecki; his sisters, Vi Savisky and Elsie Karras; and his parents-in-law, Emilie and Laurent Cousin.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Level 5, Emergency, ICU, and Security at the Victoria Hospital as well as Parkland Ambulance for their compassionate care.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, Prince Albert, SK. Following the service please join the family for lunch and fellowship at Plaza 88, Poundmaker Room, 888 Central Avenue, Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Jim may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association, 1322 Central Avenue, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 4W3.
