Carol Jill Hemsworth passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Pineview Nursing Home in Prince Albert, SK. Jill as she was known was born in Yorkton on December 13, 1939, the daughter of Angus and Eileen Spice. Jill took her public and secondary schooling in Yorkton, followed by Teachers College in Saskatoon. She taught school at Swift Current and in the Gronlid district. Her career changed to the retail business with the Hudson Bay Store in Yorkton. She met Cst. Robert Hemsworth in January 1961 and they were married on June 10, 1961 in Yorkton. Jill was very active in swimming programs in Saskatchewan and received many awards from the Royal Life Society and Red Cross. She was not only an instructor but also an examiner of many levels. She managed and taught swimming at the Frank Dunn Pool in Prince Albert for seventeen years. She also enjoyed curling, playing bridge, sewing and was active in the Quilters Guild. Jill is survived by her husband Robert; son Robert Burton (Nikki), Trinity and Thomas; son William Angus (Josie), Joey, Andrew and Emily; daughter Eileen Mitchell and Clarke; sister Jacqueline (Hugh) McTavish and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the RCMP Cemetery Regina, SK. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 1S5.
