Jewel Mildred Cochrane, Age 97 passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon January 28, 2025, at the Birchview Nursing Home at Birch Hills, SK. Jewel was born December 25, 1927, in Strongfield, SK to parents Gunda & Christian Ganes.

Jewel loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Chris,t and sang for him countless times whether as part of a congregation or as special music, either solo or as part of a duet or trio.

She was a wonderful homemaker and her home was always open to family, friends and so many others, providing great food and meals, and endless hospitality.

She loved to visit and be visited by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jewel with her positive attitude enjoyed life so well. She had such a gift for encouraging others.

Jewel was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years James Cochrane; her sisters; Florella(Alvin) Olson, Myrtle (Jake)Aadland, Viola (Leslie)Cook; her brothers; Obert (Ella)Ganes, Gerhard (Edna)Ganes, Murvyn (Eleanor)Ganes, Kermit (Adeline)Ganes, Tamer (Selma) Ganes, Arnold (Evelyn)Ganes; her sisters-in-law; Sterling Cochrane, Pearl Kvalnes; her brothers-in-law; Lorne Cochrane, Ernie Cochrane, and Bill Norman.

Jewel is survived by three sons and two daughters :

Donald (Marie) Cochrane of La Ronge, SK

Chris (Shirley) Cochrane of Birch Hills, SK

Gordon (Holly) Cochrane of Birch Hills, SK

Betty (Bill) Fairs of Prince Albert, SK

Barbara (Gerald) Hunter of Birch Hills, SK

Her sister-in-law: Mary Norman, Hazel Cochrane

Her brother-in-law: Dale (Darlene)Cochrane

Jewel also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly, but fondly miss her.
