Jennie Juravinski, age 95 years, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015, in Prince Albert, SK. Jennie was born Tuesday, April 15, 1919 in the Blaine Lake area (Tallman) to Wasyl and Dora Michayluk. She married Mike Juravinski in 1936. They lived with her parents for several years and their daughter Lorette was born there in 1940. They moved to their own farm several miles south. In 1943, they moved to the Prince Albert area, the Stanleyville District. Their second daughter Patsy was born in 1946. They raised grain, milked cows, had pigs and chickens, plus a big garden. Grandpa Juravinski (Mike’s Dad) lived with them for 26 years. They had trials and tribulations, like having their house burn down in 1952, coming out with only what was on their backs. Jennie had a career of working outside the home after Mike bet her that she couldn’t take orders from anyone. She had a job as a baker’s helper and won her bet. Mike passed away in 1978 and Jennie stayed on the farm for one year. She then sold out and moved to Marquis Towers where she lived for 36 years. She lived on her own until twelve days before her death, passing away peacefully in her sleep at her daughter Patsy’s home – something she had wished and prayed for, a peaceful death. Jennie leaves behind her daughter Lorette (Willie) Grimard and her grandchildren: JoAnne Grimard, Lorna (Rob) Story, Mike (Tracey) Grimard, Pat (Michelle) Grimard, her great-grandchildren Derek (Amanda) Grimard, Coty Story, Garett Story, Kacie Story, Paris Grimard, Spencer Grimard, Brianne Grimard, Brooklyn Grimard, her great-great-granddaughter Kiera Grimard; her daughter Pat Clark (Ken Wilkie) and her granddaughters Shannon (Scott) Hurl, Robyn (Aaron) Boyer, her great-grandchildren Brayden and Tristen Hurl, Devin, Faith and Gabriel Boyer; her sister Pearl McGregor. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Mike, 1978; her father Wasyl Michayluk, 1983; her father-in-law John Juravinski, 1966; her mother Dora Michayluk, 1971; her son-in-law James Clark, 1998; her sister Mary Zamulinski, 2014 at the age of 100 years; her sister Annie Krawchuk; her brothers George, Dick and John; plus numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Jennie had a long and healthy life up until her last days, including picking wild strawberries last summer and making perogies for Ukrainian Christmas this year. Rest in peace, Mom! We love you. Her funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 28 at River Park Memorial Chapel, Prince Albert, with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Interment will take place in South Hill Cemetery following the service. Memorial donations would be gratefully accepted to the Mental Health Unit at Victoria Hospital.
