Jeffrey David Alexander passed away suddenly August 10, 2016 in the Rosetown Hospital at the age of 56. He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of 2016. Jeff was born July 21, 1960 in the Elrose Hospital. In 1961 he moved with his family to Prince Albert where he lived and went to school until he was 13. The Alexander family moved to Cranbrook, B.C. in 1973, and in 1977 to the family farm near Greenan, Sask. Jeff had been a grain and cattle farmer for 39 years, working alongside his dad and brother. Jeff was a quiet man with a generous heart, always willing to help others. He had a great compassion for the many cats that were lucky enough to live on their farm. Jeff will be missed greatly by his mom and dad. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ruby and Marshal Mercer, paternal grandparents James and Elizabeth Alexander as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins. Jeff is survived by his parents Dave and June Alexander of Elrose; brother Scott of Elrose; sister Janet Hiebert (Steve) of Prince Albert, Sask.; Janet’s children Rachelle and Alana; and many friends and relatives around Elrose. The Alexander family would like to thank the many friends that stopped in to visit with Jeff through this illness and we are also grateful for the wonderful care from Dr. Ernst and the medical professionals at the Rosetown Hospital. We will be forever grateful for the amazing love and support from Sheila Hiebert of Swift Current. Jeff will be buried in the Greenan Cemetery on Saturday, August 20 in a private family service.
