Mom and dad met while attending Notre Dame College in Wilcox, SK and were married shortly after in 1955 in Regina, SK. By 1968 they would become a family of 10. After a short stay in Alberta, and with the help of mom’s Uncle John and Aunt Anne Macht, they settled in Prince Albert, SK where they would create a life together for 61 years.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, mom would become the matriarch with an artistry for painting, sewing (especially halloween costumes for her children/grandchildren), knitting, quilting, and gardening; all of which would become her legacy. As a homemaker, mom is remembered for her patience, her life skills teachings and her extraordinary support. When her children were grown, mom went to work, first as a hostess, and then as a travel agent where she was provided the opportunity to travel the world; creating many cherished memories. When mom retired in 1993, she continued to place her focus on her family (especially her grandchildren), her garden and her community work.
Mom was the positive motivator and encouragement for all of her children. She will be remembered for her grace, her kindness, her humble spirt, and her many life stories. Of strong Irish heritage, we send her this blessing:
“Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
