It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jeanne Tait (nee Guigon) announce her passing on January 27, 2026. Jeanne was born on July 14, 1956, in Prince Albert to Joseph Guigon and Irene (nee Blanchard) Guigon. She lived in Saint Isidore de Bellevue with her parents and seven siblings until the family moved to the farm in Duck Lake in 1965. Jeanne described living on the farm as being awesome and had many loving memories growing up there.
In 1974 she married Brian Wilkinson, and they started a family in Lily Plain. They had three children and throughout the years welcomed nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Becoming a grandma was one of her greatest joys. Her home was a haven of snacks, treats, and junk food always ready for little hands and big appetites. A cold Coke‑a‑Cola was never far from her reach, a small pleasure she enjoyed with the enthusiasm of someone forever young at heart. Life’s changing seasons eventually brought Jeanne to MacDowall, where she met Gerald (Jerry) Tait. Together they settled on the Twin Lakes farm in 1997, and the following year they were married. After Jerry’s passing, Jeanne returned to Duck Lake where she spent her final years. Jeanne lived a life rooted in hard work, joy and an unmistakable spark that made her unforgettable. Farming was in her blood, and she took special pride in calving season. Those long days and nights that only someone with her grit and heart could truly appreciate. Gardening was another passion, and she had no hesitation in recruiting her grandkids to weed rows or hill potatoes. Those moments, equal parts work and laughter became cherished memories for everyone involved. She had a remarkable talent for finding a good bargain. Whether she was scouting out yard sales, hunting down grocery deals, bidding at auctions, or scrolling through online sales, she always seemed to uncover treasures others overlooked.
Jeanne was generous, free‑spirited, and wonderfully outspoken. Stubborn to the very end, she lived life on her own terms, guided by her strong independence and a heart full of love.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Irene Guigon; her husband, Jerry Tait; and her daughter, Cheryl Nemish (nee Wilkinson); her brother, Peter Guigon.
Jeanne is survived by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, warmth, and unforgettable character. Her spirit lives on in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the love she poured into her family and community.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses whose compassion and care brought comfort to her in her final days.
At Jeanne’s request, a Come-and-Go gathering to celebrate her life will be held at the MacDowall Lions Recreation Centre, MacDowall, SK, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. A private interment of her ashes will be held at a later date. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.
