January 4, 1928 – October 5, 2016
Jean Rose Wootton (Medynski), age 88, passed away peacefully, with family at her side. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Ken Wootton and their daughters, Dianne (Richard) Stobbs, and their children Kim (Haven) Jacobs, and Donna (Lindsey) Wall, daughter Debbie (Willie) Dorton, and their children, Ryan (Melissa) Dorton, Chad (Krysta) Dorton, Kristin (John) Cloke, daughter Karen (Ed) Buchholz, and their children Nicole (Josh) Gitlin, Megan (Chris) Carr, Melanie (Cassidy) Cole and daughter Laurie (Norm) Domoslai, and her children Chelsey (Randy) Watchman and Kyle (Joanne) Erickson. Jean’s 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, were also a great source of joy in her life. Our mom stayed home to raise her family until the youngest started school at which time she started a career as a bookkeeper at Fayerman Brothers Wholesale. She worked there until its closing. She worked in a number of volunteer positions after her retirement in 1986. Over the years, mom made many knitting and needlepoint projects in her spare time as well as filling our tummies with the best perogies and cabbage rolls anywhere. Mom also enjoyed bowling and fishing with dad. Dad joined her in retirement in 1988 at which time they took up golfing, a passion they both shared. Mom and Dad’s marriage was a lifelong romance to rival any storybook or movie. The love, respect and affection they had for each other was evident in their daily lives throughout their six and half decades together. As Mom’s dementia worsened, our dad lovingly and patiently took on all the cooking, cleaning and laundry in addition to making sure she received her medication and had daily exercise. There will be no internment of mom’s ashes, our dad is taking her home! Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Rather Roque Concepcion will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Memorial Chapel, Prince Albert, 306 764-2727, Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director.
