Jean Kushner
1937–2026

Jean Kushner passed away on September 27, 2026. She was born in Ranger, Saskatchewan, in May 1937 to Peter and Ksenka Kostiuk (née Toporowski). Jean was the 13th of 14 children.

Jean enjoyed spending much of her time having coffee at Smitty’s and visiting the Northern Lights Casino, where she made many friends.

Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Randy and Michael; Randy’s daughters, Crystal Ahenakew (Leslie), and their children, Brooke and Vincent; and Heidi Woloshen (Lucas), and their children, Brandy, Lexie, and Macie; her brother, Dmetro Kostiuk of Edmonton, Alberta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Ksenka Kostiuk; her daughter, Gail Koehl (2025); her son-in-law, Frank Koehl; her brothers, Stan, Mike, Sid, William, Harry, and Walter; and her sisters, Stella Archer and Anne Riley.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, in the Garden of Gethsemane.
