Callbeck, Jean Sarah (nee Morgan): It is with the deepest of sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother on April 7, 2011.
Mom was born May 13, 1922 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. A true blue-noser, Mom always had an affinity for the water and all things East Coast as she fondly talked to us about the wonderful area. She moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan as a young girl and spent her formative years there. Mom served very proudly with the Women’s Army Corps during WW2. She met Dad at the training depot in Prince Albert and they were married in 1949. Children came along starting in 1952 and life got very busy.
Family was the most important thing to Mom and she was happiest when her children, grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren were around. Mom always saw and found the best in others. Her unconditional love for all of her family was unwavering.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Jim after 46 years of marriage. Her eldest son, Tom also predeceased her and Mom said that this was a difficult time to manage.
Mom is survived by her children: Beverly and Fred Wilkinson, Murray and Hazel Callbeck, Pat and Harvey Harder, Wayne and Brenda Callbeck, Kim Callbeck and Greg Hounsell. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews and a world of friends and other relatives.
It is hard to say good-bye to someone that you love so dearly but there is a time for all things under Heaven and it is time for us now to say good-bye. Mother, we love you and know that you are in a better place looking out for all of us. Until we meet again, look after Dad and Tom and have a little time for yourself.
Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s charity of choice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The funeral service will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel in Prince Albert at 2:00 on Tuesday, April 12.
