Janet Allan Cripps

CRIPPS-Janet Allan (nee Nugent), late of Prince Albert, SK. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Janet Cripps on April 3, 2011. Janet was born August 9, 1916 to Charles and Mary Nugent in Prince Albert, SK. She married Vernon Nathaniel Cripps on April 15, 1942 in Steep Creek, SK. They farmed there for many years until Nat’s passing December 14, 1960. Janet was also very involved with the Steep Creek Ladies Aid and the local church. After Nat passed, Janet moved to Prince Albert where she worked for the Victoria Union Hospital as a Dietary Aid until her retirement in 1981. To keep busy after retiring, Janet relished in knitting and crocheting for family and friends. She also loved to make family suppers and remain involved with the family unit as much as possible. Janet is survived by her daughters Janet (Lawrence) McKay and Mary (Marcel) Frenette; grandchildren Marilyn Ferguson, Trenton (Melissa) Ferguson and Kevin (Kristine) Frenette; granddaughter-in-law Charlene (Vernon) Ferguson; great-grandchildren T.C. Ferguson, Taylor Ferguson, Taggart Ferguson, Kaitlyn Ferguson, Riley Ferguson and Kelsie Frenette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and one sister-in-law Joan Cripps residing in England. A special thanks goes out to all who cared for “Granny” during her final years. Janet was predeceased by her husband Vernon Nathaniel Cripps; parents Charles and Mary Nugent; sister Mary Nugent and her grandson Vernon Alymer Ferguson. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm in Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel, 130-9th Street East, Prince Albert with Rev. Tony Thompson officiating. Interment Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Arrangements in care of Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel, Brian Stobbs and Bev Stobbs Funeral Directors.
