Janell Dunn

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the Big River Cemetery. 

 Janell Eileen Dunn, 61 years of age, passed on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at her home in Big River, Saskatchewan.  Janell was born February 20, 1959, in Big River, Saskatchewan to Robert “Bob” Dunn and the late Deanna Dunn. She was the proud sister to five younger brothers. Janell’s first marriage was to Bruce Neufeld and two children were born from this union. Janell was also formerly married to Dennis Johnson.

 Janell was educated in Big River for her formative years and obtained her teaching degree in 1991 through the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Teaching elementary school was Janell’s passion in her adult life until her retirement in 2018. After Janell’s retirement, she enjoyed making crafts, refinishing old furniture, and spending time with her grandchildren.

 Janell was a very loving and hard-working individual who at one point had three separate jobs but always managed to find time for family no matter how weary she was. If there was ever a student that needed a coat, mittens, or school supplies; or a child on the other side of the world that needed food; or an animal that needed a home, Janell was there to help provide with whatever she had.

 Janell leaves to cherish her loving memory to her children, Tyler (Roz) and Weston (Cathy); her five grandchildren, Sebastian, Ethan, Gabriel, Jeorgia, and Cecelia; her father; five brothers; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the Big River Cemetery. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Janell to the SPCA (Box 1832 Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9).
