Robertson, James Thomas June 5, 1947 ~ October 2, 2010 Jim Robertson of Rural Route 1, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on the night of October 2, 2010. Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years Eileen (Soroka); children Christopher of Edmonton, AB, Douglas (Kayla) of Rocky Mountain House, AB, Timothy of Buck Creek, AB and Beth (Michael Fenc) of Edmonton, AB; sisters Pat Krause (Herb) and Cathie Robertson (Ernest Dreolini) of Prince Albert, SK; brothers Dennis (Rita) and Blair (Julie) Robertson of Rocky Mountain House, AB; sister-in-law Kim Schumacher (Dave) of Onoway, AB and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and Aunt Cathy and Uncle Pete Gilbane of Murphy, North Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Isabel Robertson and his youngest brother Lloyd Jr. Born and raised in Smeaton, SK, Jim worked from a young age at various jobs, including the resource industry in the Arctic, farming near Smeaton, and operating a sawmill with Terry King. Finally, Jim followed his dream of building and running his own trucking company, at first with his business partner Dave Welygan and for the past 10 years as head honcho of Jim Robertson Trucking. Jim was a master mechanic, whose equipment was always in tiptop shape. He was caring and loyal to his family and friends, employers and employees. He was willing to help anyone, and often did. He was a proud and caring father. He enjoyed touring and he and Eileen explored many roads across North America. He looked forward to the weighty discussions he had with his buddies on coffee row. Jim will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. A Funeral Service for the late Jim Robertson will be held at the Church Of The Nazarene, Rocky Mountain House, AB on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Don Johnson officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made in Jim's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
