James Bryan Souter passed away at the age of 76 years old in Prince Albert, SK on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife Nellie Souter; son Kevin Souter and daughter-in-law Lois Souter; sister Betty Mills; grandchildren Cody (Megan Bryant), Levi, and Katelyn (Travis Lamarche) Souter, and great-grandson Draven Lamarche; numerous nieces and nephews; family and extended family and the many people he has had the honour of knowing and having in his life over the years. James was predeceased by his son Bryan Alexander Souter; brothers William, Donald, George Souter; his parents Ina and Alexander Souter; grandparents Laura Booth, Irene and William Lawrence, and Fred and Mervin Lawrence. James was born in the Byng district, Naicam, SK on April 10, 1940. James was employed with the Government of Saskatchewan for over 40 years in multiple positions and locations around the province. He was a very dedicated family man and always looked forward to all the time he got to spend with them. He enjoyed many hobbies from beadwork, making dream catchers, wood work, ceramics, leather work, dog sled making and countless other hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life. James was also enjoyed showing horses, dog sled racing, king trapper events and trap lining for over 50 years and was also a major part in the Prince Albert Metis Fall Festival and Prince Albert Winter Festival. He also has won numerous awards for multiple internationally published poems and shorts stories in various magazines and highly sought after books. James and his son Kevin also shared their passion for leather work when they opened there very own leather and shoe repair shop over 18 years ago. James was a very insertional man and was loved and will be missed by many. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Reverend Rick Martin will officiate. Interment will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangments are entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 306-764-2727, Donald M.
