James is survived by his loving family, his brothers, Wilson Ballantyne (Cora), Simon (Lydia) Sewap, Neil Sewap; his sisters, Amelia Millard, Sarah Eninew (née Sewap), Angelique Beatty, Polly (Roy) Eninew, Verna Sewap, Caroline Beatty (née Sewap); his aunt, Sarah Ballantyne; his godchildren, Arleen Hamilton, Sophie Barbara Sewap; his special friends, Paul Beatty, Larry Beatty, Gordon Ballantyne.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jonah & Sophie Sewap; his grandparents, Peter & Angelique Ballantyne, Edward & Polly Sewap; his aunts & uncles, Simon Eninew, Mathew Eninew, Simeon Ballantyne, Nancy Custer, Mary Bear, Alice McCallum, Joseph Ballantyne, Florence Custer, Caroline Sewap (Sam), Jean Beatty (Oscar); his sisters, Barbara Custer, Flora Ballantyne (née Sewap); his nieces & nephews, Christopher Sewap, Marsha Sewap, Kelly & Brent Beatty, Kristie Custer, Olivia Custer, Roderick Eninew, Adele Eninew, Olivia Eninew, Lisa Sewap, Baby Custer Beatty; his brothers-in-law, Phillip Beatty, Phillip Eninew, Bob Millard.

The Prayer Service for James will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK, with Rev. Nora Vedress officiating. The Wake Service will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at St. Peter Anglican Church, in Deschambault Lake, SK. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at St. Peter Anglican Church, in Deschambault Lake, SK, Rev. Richard Custer and Rev. Elaine Bear officiating.
