James Philip McLeod, age 89, late of Stanley Mission, SK, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016.  James was born Wednesday, October 13, 1926 in La Ronge, SK.  A Wake Service was held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Stanley Mission.  His Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, with Officiants Reverend Richard Custer and Reverend Elias Ballantyne.  James is survived by his loving family: his wife of 68 years Mabel Dorothy (nee Charles) McLeod; his 6 sons Alfred (Hannah) McLeod, Kelly (Charlotte) McLeod, Wayne McLeod, Samson (Shirley) McLeod, Bruce McLeod, & Malachi McLeod, all of Stanley Mission; his special adopted son Russell (Jessie) Charles of Stanley Mission; his 5 daughters Jean (Isaac) Charles of Stanley Mission, Annie (Philip) Charles of La Ronge, Melinda (Gilbert) McLeod, Lillian (Joe) Graves, & Lena (Andrew) McLeod, all of Stanley Mission; his sister Laura McLeod of La Ronge; his brothers George (Nancy) McLeod of Stanley Mission, Dennis (Marjorie) McLeod of Prince Albert; his 42 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren; his special friends Brian Hardlotte, John P. Roberts, Angus T. McLeod.  He was predeceased by: his parents Malachi & Lizzie (nee Cook) McLeod; his 2 sons Cecil & Stanley McLeod; his 2 daughters in infancy; his brothers William (Jemima), Ernest, Angus, Gideon, Horace & Johnny (Delia) McLeod; his sisters Jane Grace McLeod & Bella Mirasty; his father-in-law & mother-in-law Stanley & Nora (nee Irving) Charles; his grandchildren Warren Charles, Cecil McLeod Jr., Marius Charles & Warren McLeod; his 3 great grandchildren; his son-in-law Isaac Charles; numerous nephews & nieces.  Interment took place in the Stanley Mission Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Lac La Ronge Funeral Home, 306 425-3666, Debra Klassen, Funeral Director, and River Park Memorial Chapel, 306 764-2727, Colette Harnett, Funeral Director.
