JAMES HENRY (HANK) BIERWIRTH
November 19, 1914 to July 2, 2012
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a talented, gentle, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Hank Bierwirth, at the age of 97 years. Hank was born on November 19, 1914 at Oxbow, Saskatchewan, one of 6 children. On November 22, 1940 he married Phyllis Lamb at Davis, Saskatchewan. Hank and Phyllis lived in the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan area where Hank enlisted with the army in 1942 and was stationed in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, training recruits. After his discharge he worked 44 years for CN Railway. During this time he loved playing in bands and making music! In 2001 Hank and Phyllis moved to Innisfail and Hank enjoyed jamming at the dances at the Drop-In Center every Saturday. Hank is survived by many who loved him dearly – Winston, Shirley, Krista, Bob, Olivia, Oren, Boyd, Steve, Jason, and Tara as well as many other family members and friends. He will be remembered in our hearts forever. We would like to thank all those who prayed for him after his fall. We would also like to thank the great staff at the Country Lodge and the Acute Care wing at the Innisfail Health Care Centre. Honoring the wishes of Hank, no service will be held. A graveside burial will be held in Prince Albert at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Hanks honor to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104, Innisfail, Alberta.
