With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and auntie, Jacqueline Carol Chin Holland who passed on October 24, 2026, in Prince Albert, SK.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents, Fredrick James Chin and Josephine Wozniak Chin Forrest; her husband, Graham William Holland; and her younger sister, Colleen Chin Bekker. Jacqueline was the oldest of 3 daughters and in a time when a Chinese father and Polish mother were a rare sight. The 3 sisters were each known for their beauty, and Dad fell in love with Mom at first sight.
Mom is survived by her children, Brad Holland and Monica Holland Towns; her grandchildren, Jadan Towns (Tim Pennell) and Bryce Towns; her great grandson, Crew Pennell; her sister, Shirle Simon in California; her nephews, James Bekker and Spencer Simon; and several beloved great nieces and nephews.
Mom spent her entire working career at Canada Safeway as a cashier and then as a customer service rep and trainer, where she loved interacting with her coworkers and the people who shopped there. She was well known for her smile, her cheerful and caring attitude and her big heart.
In her younger years, Mom loved the convent girl’s school and was always faithful in saying her prayers. It was in her prayers that she was comforted and sustained right to the end of her life.
Mom loved spending time in her garden and she loved her flowers. She never even minded sweeping up and shovelling the snow in winter. In fact, she enjoyed shovelling so much that she even won the golden shovel award!
Jackie and Graham’s home was the hub of most holiday dinners with family and friends, even 15-20 at a time. Mom enjoyed cooking and later learned that Dad enjoyed cooking even more than she did! They both loved helping and serving others especially their family and friends.
Mom was part of the Safeway girls team who made thousands of perogies for the Telemiracle fundraising efforts over many years spending unlimited hours, days and weeks preparing the food, all done with love in her heart because she was helping people.
Mom loved her pets, especially several dogs and kitties with several kitties missing her now.
Mom, we love you forever. -Monica and Brad.
Mom is greatly missed. A private family gathering will occur at a later date.
