Ivy Wilson

Ivy Wilson, long-time resident of Shell Lake, SK. and recently of Shellbrook, passed away Jan. 22, 2016 at the nursing home in Shellbrook, SK. She was born to Frank and Margaret Willsey of Wembley, AB. on Jan. 23, 1932. She was the 11th of 13 children. Her main occupation in life was as a homemaker, being an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers. She was very talented when it came to art, she drew and painted many pictures over the years. She loved to go for drives to see new countryside and especially loved her trips home to the peace country of Alberta.
She is survived by her children: Joy (Eugene)of Wembley, AB., Neal of Blaine Lake, SK., Kevin (Brenda) of Grande Prairie, AB., Bud (Caitlin) of Waldheim, SK., Ken of Cutknife, SK. and Melani of Calgary, AB., 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, her sisters; Jean and Ellen, her brother; Earl and her sister-in-law; Dorothy. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank & Margaret Willsey, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and 9 brothers and sisters-in-law.
A memorial service will be held in Shell Lake on Feb. 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shell Lake Lions Hall. Interment will be at the Cemetery in Beaverlodge, AB. at a later date.
In lieu of other tributes, Memorial Donations in memory of Ivy may be made to Parkland Integrated Health Centre, Long Term Care Home Art Program, Shellbrook , SK.
