Iris Margaret Meissner
With saddened hearts we announce that our precious mother Iris Margaret Meissner, late of Prince Albert, was called home to the Lord on November 22, 2012.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God laid for me
I took His hand when I heard His call
My life’s been full and I Savored much
My God, my family, my friends and a loved one’s touch
Iris was predeceased by her loving husband Walter and their son Richard; her brother Bill McKenzie and sister Pearl Shedlowski and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Iris was born in Kindersley on December 3, 1921. She was wed to Walter in 1939. After the war she moved to Prince Albert where she raised her family. She loved to help others and was active in Nesbit Memorial and Wesley United Church. She was a volunteer and gave of her time with many organizations. She enjoyed tending her flowers and her special Candle Lake life. She will lovingly be remembered for her laughter and fancy. Iris is survived and her memories cherished by her son Barrie (Sandi) Meissner, daughter Carol (Richard) Wilson, daughter-in-law Caroline Meissner, precious grandchildren: Tara, Landon, Brooke, Barrett, Brittany, Kelly, Sheryl and Timothy, her great-grandchildren: Collin, Gabrielle, McKenzie, Adelyn, Jase, Tyler and Kaitlyn. There will be no funeral ceremony at this time; a graveside service and life celebration will be held in the early summer of 2013.
We would wish to thank the nurses of the 6th floor of the Victoria Hospital for their support and care.
