Iona Hagen

It is with great sadness that the family of Iona Hope Hagen announce her passing on August 13, 2019 at the age of 86 years. Iona was born at the family homestead south of Hagen, Saskatchewan, the eighth of nine children born to Peter and Ida Hagen.
Iona attended Harmony School and upon graduation completed her teacher’s college training in Saskatoon. She taught for many years in both Saskatchewan and Alberta. Later, she attended Prince Albert Business College and subsequently worked for the Department of Social Welfare and the Land Titles Office.
Iona is lovingly remembered by her sisters: Ruth Porter, Bernice Singer and Joyce Daniels; her brother: Cecil (Betty Lou) Hagen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Iona was predeceased by her parents: Peter and Ida Hagen; her brothers: Andrew “Andy” and Carl Hagen; her sisters: Kathleen “Kay” Hagen and Pearline “Pearl” Folstad; her brothers-in-law: Clifford Folstad, Ray Porter, Rudy Singer and Fred Daniels; her sister-in-law: Dolores (Hagen) Lavoie; her niece: Judy Braaten; and her great-niece: Faye Denis.
