In Loving Memory of Barry Richard Balicki
January 16, 1960 – September 10, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barry Richard Balicki on September 10, 2025, at the age of 65.
Barry was born on January 16, 1960, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to Tony and Ann Balicki. He grew up on the family farm in Claytonville, where he developed a deep work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. Barry was a proud graduate of Meath Park High School, where he excelled in football, and was recently honored with induction into the Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame for his athletic achievements.
After leaving the family farm, Barry embarked on a successful career in the transportation industry, building his own business and earning the respect and admiration of those in his field. His work ethic, integrity, and dedication were unmatched.
Barry met the love of his life, Shelly Beaton, in November of 1980. They recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. They made their home in Ardrossan, Alberta, where they raised a beautiful family. Barry is survived by his loving wife, Shelly; his son, Quinn (Gillian) and grandsons Callahan and Rawlings; his daughter, Madison; his son, Colton (Sybil) and his new grandson, Levi, arriving in October.
He is also survived by his mother, Ann; his brother Dave (Val); brother Adam; Shelly’s parents and siblings; his nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his father, Tony Balicki; niece, Tanya Balicki; and sister-in-law, Lesia Balicki.
Barry was deeply proud of his children and grandchildren and found immense joy in spending time with them.
Family vacations were a special time for Barry—a chance for him to share laughter, adventure, and memories with those he loved most. He cherished these moments and was a constant source of strength and support for his family.
Barry’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and commitment to his family and community. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his generous spirit, and his unwavering devotion to those he held dear.
