It is with heavy hearts the the family of Ian share his passing on August 25, 2026 at the age of 67 years. Ian grew up in Cabri, Saskatchewan were at a young age he developed a love for the outdoors spending his time dirtbiking and snowmobiling. He moved to Vanguard, Saskatchewan in 1977 to start a mechanical apprenticship. Ian met Cindy in 1978 and where married in April of 1979. They moved to Allan, Saskatchewan the same month, were Ian started his 38 year career at the Allan Potash Mine. His sons Tucker was born February, 1980 and Trent was born April of 1981. Ian moved with his familky to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1992 where they lived until their retirement took them to Chitek Lake. Ian’s love of hunting, fishing, quadding and snowmobiling flourished in Chitek. Ian had 5 amazing granddaughters he treasured deeply and spent many hours teaching them archery and bear hunting, any kind of hunting they would do together was always successful.
Ian is lovingly remembered by his wife Cindy, his sons Tyler (Lisa), Trent (Candace) , granddaughters Hayley, Rylee, Avery, Trinity, and Morgan, sister May Harris. Ian was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Betty Harris, and both father and mother in law Don and Francis Shannon.
Memorial donations maybe made in Ian’s memory to: Chitek Lake Bush Buddies Snowmobile Club or Witchekan Wildlife Federation.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Leoville Community Hall, with interment to follow at the Leoville Cemetery.
