Hugh Meyers

Hugh was born in Prince Albert, SK, on Monday, June 5, 1933, and passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, in Big River, SK.

Hugh was raised in Weirdale, SK, with his brothers and sisters. His parents Frank and Ruby lived a humble life. Hugh started working on the rigs at an early age in life. When he married Joan, they moved to Ladder Valley to raise their family. Hugh farmed, drove Truck, and worked on rigs.

Huge thank you to all the people that attended Hugh’s 90^th Birthday Party. Hugh was very humbled by everyone that came to celebrate with him.

Hugh enjoyed having his son Curt cook him breakfast every morning, and Lana would go and make sure that he had supper and took his pills.

The family would like to thank the homecare staff that came to help dad, and to the Big River Health Centre for taking such great care of him the last few months. Would like to say thank you to all who would stop by and visit him.

Hugh is survived by his children, Cal (Jackie) Meyers, Curt (Lana) Meyers, and Shannon (Blair) Sutherland; grandchildren, Duncan (Laura) Sutherland, Damon (Brittany) Sutherland, Landon (Katelyn) Sutherland, Cody (Kanesha) Meyers, and Cole (Amber) Meyers; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Forsyth, Hugh Sutherland, Ruthie Sutherland, Jaxon Meyers, Tate Meyers, Ruby Sutherland, Jack Sutherland, Griffin Sutherland, Avery Sutherland, Rosie Meyers. In-laws, Delaine (Geoff) Hazlett, Lorna (Richard) Park, Joyce Ahearn, Barb Ahearn; nieces and nephews, life-long friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joan (née Ahearn); his parents, Frank and Ruby Meyers; his brothers, James (Jim), John (Jack), Richard (Dick), Harry; his sisters, Barbara (Jean), Agnes; brothers-in-law, Harold, Wayne, Barry, Perry; sister-in-law Ethel; and parents-in-law, Joseph and Velda; his nephews, Wyett, Dewell and Trey. As per family wishes, there will not be a funeral service, the family will be doing private interment.
