HILDA ANDERSON December 14, 1926 – June 12, 2011
We the family of Hilda Anderson (Larson) announces that she has gone to be with her husband Thomas and her Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2011.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk will officiate.
Left to cherish Hilda’s memories is her family: her children Richard (Cecile), William (Lynne), Laura, Grace (Peter), John (Melanie), Elizabeth, Mary (Don), Thomas (Fern), Myrtle (Jerry); her 33 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Hilda leaves many other family and friends.
She was born in Dollard, SK to Elma and John Larson. Hilda was predeceased by both parents and her only sibling Tillie Renaud who passed away on March 24, 2004. Hilda married Thomas Anderson on March 27, 1948 and moved to the farm in Spiritwood. Hilda and Tom then moved to BC to work at a lighthouse only to return to Spiritwood to take over the family farm and raise the family. After all the children left home, they moved into town. Later Tom became ill and passed away on March 29, 1998.
Hilda moved into Prince Albert to be closer to health care. Living on her own she had very close friends including a special friend, Albert Anderson. Living close by were other family members and friends. One other special friend, George Canyon kept in touch with her. Hilda joined the Legion. She loved to play cards and was known to go play a game or two of Bingo. Hilda was a fighter who fought many childhood problems. Hilda enforced family values. Finally, after a very short and courageous battle with Cancer, she succumbed to it surrounded by family. She was brave and strong for all of us to the end. Hilda loved all and was loved by all. We thank you for sharing with us your memories and ours.
Interment will take place at the Spiritwood Cemetery. It is the family’s request that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Lesley Sully – Funeral Director
