Henry Edward Schmidt, late of Prince Albert, SK, beloved companion of Marlene Abdai, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK.
Henry Schmidt was born June 25, 1950, and grew up on a family farm in Kilwinning, SK. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was known throughout Saskatchewan’s rural municipalities for his exceptional road building skills. Over the years, Henry made his home in Eatonia, Norquay, Fox Valley, Kilwinning, Blaine Lake, and most recently Red Wing near Prince Albert. He enjoyed country drives, especially down the roads he built, reading true stories, playing a serious game of cards and sharing a good home cooked meal and sweets.
Henry will be missed by his companion, Marlene Abdai; her children, Cindy (Bill) Mattson and family, Wendy (Cam) Cartier and family, and Shari (Wayne) Ilnisky and family; his sister, Elenor Boyko and family.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, Katie and Edward Schmidt and sister Adeline Grimm.
