MR. HENRY ANDREW WATIER
It is with great sadness and a fond farewell that the Watier family announce that after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Henry Watier passed away peacefully in the company of his loving wife Theresa. Henry was born June 18, 1930 in Spiritwood, SK, where he spent his early youth, and later his teen years in Big River, SK. Upon leaving Big River, he moved to Prince Albert where he worked for the Blue Chain Store and later for Bricker’s Shoe Store. While working at Bricker’s, in a chance encounter, he met the love of his life Theresa. They were married September 23, 1953. Over the next few years he held various positions taking him as far away as Vancouver, BC to Uranium City in Northern Saskatchewan before finally settling in The Pas, MB where he was transferred to manage the SAAN Store. After honing his retail skills he decided to go into business for himself and Watier Jewellers was born. Over the next 27 years he made many acquaintances and many became good friends. He had the pleasure of working with wonderful people and had fond memories of the good times they shared. In 1988 he retired and eventually he and Theresa moved back to Prince Albert to enjoy their retirement. Henry loved music, laughter, travel, and the company of good friends. On June 4, 2014, Henry passed away as a longtime resident of Herb Bassett Care Home where he received loving and compassionate care. Henry was predeceased by his parents Edouard and Maria Watier, his brothers Joe, Peter and Frank; his sisters Irene, Mary Anne, Jean and Margret. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa (Forseille); his sons Robert and Del (Ariel), Denis and Rita (Proulx), Roland and Sheila (Marbella); his grandsons Archie and Sebastien; his granddaughter Alexa. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 6 at River Park Memorial Chapel with Sister Renée Buliard officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7 from Sacred Heart Cathedral with Celebrant Father Maurice Fiolleau. Interment will take place in the Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family’s request that donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Parkinson Society of Saskatchewan. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M.
