SANDBERG-Helen Anne late ofPrince Albert, SK passed away on November 16, 2010 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 81 years with her daughter-in-law Laurie Walker by her side. She was born on May 21, 1929 in Birch Hills, SK. Helen and Russ established a private care home with mental health, in which they served the community for 25 years. Through those years Helen cared for numerous people to whom was entrusted in her care. Her door was always open to family and friends at any time for that special treat and coffee. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Laurie (Donna) Sandberg of Island Lake, AB; Les Sandberg of Prince Albert, SK; Royce (Laurie) Walker of Prince Albert, SK and Rick (Donna) Walker of Saskatoon, SK;grandchildren: Leanne Eade of Kingston, ON; Christy (Nathan) Trescher of Yellow Knife, NWT; Lisa Walker (Jon) of Regina, SK; Lee (Sarah) Walker of Prince Albert, SK; Kristy Walker of Saskatoon, SK; Kari Connolly (Gerry) of Alexander, MB; Robyn Canning (Jeff) of Innisfail, AB; Kimberley (Scott) Walker-Higgs of Saskatoon, SK and Jeri-Lynn (Kevin) Cook of Prince Albert, SK;great-grandchildren: Jon Trescher of Yellowknife, NWT; Sara Walker of Regina, SK; Conner, Katelyn, Carson, Zachary Connolly of Alexander, MB; Jade, Farrah, Jett Canning of Innisfail, AB; Jacob and Kalob Higgs of Saskatoon, SK and Tyler & Sierra Cook of Prince Albert, SK; sisters: Magna Boyes of Birch Hills, SK; Alice Pryce of Birch Hills, SK and Gladys (Joe) Laturnas of Saskatoon, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Helen was predeceased by: first husband: Royce Walker; second husband: Russ Sandberg; father: Nick Harstad; mother: Helga Harstad; brother: Albert Harstad; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sue & Les Elliot and Nina & Ted Riley; brothers-in-law: Harry Pryce and Tom Boyes; niece: Bernice Boyes and nephew’s son: Justin Boyes. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11:00 am in Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel, 130-9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating.
