Helen Corinne Rivest passed away unexpectedly on October 1st, 2016 at the age of 65 in the Saskatoon hospital, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.  Helen was born on August 4th, 1951 to Marion and James (Jim) Power.  She is survived by her daughter Jaime (Steve Remple) and her grandson Oliver as well as her mother Marion Power; her sisters Pat Power and Shirley (Don) Barnes; her sister-in-law Sandra Power; as well as her nieces Shauna (Michael) Mckee, Kim (Brian) Barnes; her nephews Geoff (Courtney) Power, Mathew Power and Jim Barnes. Helen was pre-deceased by her husband Francois in 2015; her father Jim Power in 1998; and her brother Tom Power in 2012.  Helen was truly driven to accomplish whatever it was she set out to do.  Her true talent, however, was not only her ability to create long lasting and meaningful relationships but also to touch the people she met, even just for a few moments, in a profound way.  She was successful in business and this allowed her and her late husband Francois to travel extensively.  This was one of her greatest joys because she was able to do it with her true love Francois, her rock and her support in life whom she (we) lost on August 17th, 2015 after a short battle with esophageal cancer.  If they weren’t traveling, they could usually be found at their lake cabin where both she and Francois loved socializing with their many friends, and watching their grandson Oliver grow to love the place they loved.  Helen’s zest for life lives on in our hearts and memories.  A Celebration of her beautiful life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with the Reverend Dr. Norbert Haukenfrers officiating.  In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a Trust Fund for Oliver.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca   Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
