Helen Degerness (nee Yurchyshyn) was born on November 3, 1918 in Maryville, Saskatchewan to parents Effie and Roman.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Daniel (1993) and three infant daughters and twelve siblings.

Helen is survived by her five daughters:

Mary (Bert) Glover

Darlene (Garry) Alexander and their children: Trina (Troy) Dubitz and their children: Hudson & Ben Dubitz; Trevor and his children: Aspen, Reece & Jasper Alexander

Dianne (Dick) Baillie and their children: Heather (Doug) Taylor and their children: Brendan & Brady Taylor; Rick and his children: Dixon, Elena Baillie; Mike and his children: Madoc, Merrick, Marco Baillie

Beverly (Fred) Hubbard and their daughter: Trish (Matt) Richmond and  their children: Hunter, Alyssa Richmond

Lynda (Milton) Scott and their children: Jackie Scott and her    children: Hollie (Trevor) McInnis and their children: Gemma, Easton McInnis; Robbie (Chantel) Lyttle and their children: Kiarah, Kylar Lyttle; Ian (Lori) Scott and their children: Haylee & Emma Scott;

Brother: Steve Yurchyshyn and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Providence, St. Brieux and Parkland Place, Melfort for the excellent care mom received while living there.

A Funeral Service for Helen will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church, Bagley, SK

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church, North Central Health Care Foundation (Melfort Hospital) or Parkland Place Residents Council.
