It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Helen Collins, she went peacefully to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2020, in Saskatoon, SK. Helen Grummet Collins was born on Tuesday, June 13, 1933, on the family farm in Kinistino, SK, to Herb and Lizzie Jones. She married Verne Banks on November 3, 1956, and they made Birch Hills their home. Jim, Shirley, Connie and Judy were born to this union, and with Verne’s untimely death in 1968, it left Helen to raise 4 young children. Helen then married Len Collins on August 10, 1970, and her fifth child Marla was born. The family then moved to Prince Albert where Helen drove cab for several years. Helen was also an avid Raider fan through the years!
Leaving to mourn her passing are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, James (Sandra) Banks, Chris (Jen) Banks and Arielle, Austin and Avery; Shirley (Chris) Cochrane, Delaney Banks (Morgan Franson) and Leo, Chantelle (Quinton) Taszikowicz, Lexus, Dillon, and Blake; Connie Banks, Tyler Hovdebo, Ryan (Chantelle) Hovdebo and Arianna and Logan, Nicole (Nathan) Huculiak and Brooklyn; Judy Banks (Gary Gobeil), Colby (Tiffany) Gobeil and Clara, Shelby (Brett) Eskes and Andrea, Riley Gobeil (Kelsey Warkentin); Marla Collins, Anthony Collins and Amy Collins; her brothers, Art Jones and Don (Debbie) Jones; her brother-in-law, Ed Sanderson; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Lizzie Jones; her sister, Daphne Sanderson; her sister-in-law, Janet Jones; her first husband, Verne Banks, and her second husband, Len Collins; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law on the Banks side of the family.
