Heather passed away gracefully on Sunday, March 13, 2011. She was born in Prince Albert, SK on January 13, 1930 and grew up on a farm near Donnybrooke in the MacDowall District. In 1952 Heather met and married the love of her life Bud, and they celebrated over 58 years together. Heather was employed by Sears for many years and after her retirement she and Bud spent many winter months at Qualicum Beach, BC where they were able to enjoy their shared love of golf. Although the stroke she sustained in 2001 affected her ability to pursue her passion for golf and piano, she continued to have an active interest in the world around her. She was a person whose life was always focused on people, with her family at the centre. Heather is survived by her husband Thomas “Bud”; her children Donna (Myron) Bodnar, Greg (Lyla) and Bev (John) Theakston; her grandchildren Erin Bodnar, Teri (Mike) Moore, Tom Bodnar (Alison), Greg Bodnar, Elizabeth Clarke, Graeme Clarke, Mark St. Germain (Keeley) and Evan Theakston; her sister Fern (Tom) Ivester as well as several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Heather’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
“She will be forever loved, never forgotten, and sadly missed.”
