Hazel Erikson

Hazel Mary (Johnstone) Erikson passed away at the Birchview Nursing Home on Tuesday October 4, 2016. She was born at Waitville, on September 21, 1931. Her parents were William and Annabelle Johnstone. Hazel attended school in Waitville, SK. She married Einar Erikson on October 28, 1953. Together they raised three children on the family farm in the Tiger Hills District near Birch Hills.
Hazel had a great love of horses throughout her life. Hazel and Einar would ride them and drive them in parades in the summer and go on sleigh rides in the winter. Hazel was a humble, kind and caring person. She loved gardening, canning, cooking and working outside on the farm. Her family was her life as she found great joy in making a warm and welcoming home for them and for her friends.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband Einar Erikson, Her daughter Janet (Ray) Campbell, Her son Thomas (Jennifer) Erikson. Her sisters Marjorie Braaten and Jean Macfie, . Her brothers; Clifford Johnstone and Arleigh (Annelle) Johnstone. Her grandchildren; Chad (Kelly) Tilsley, Theran (Brett) Tilsley; Diana Rae (Brad) Campbell and Great grandchildren. And Sister-in-law Faye (Magne) Erikson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel was pre-deceased by her daughter Lois Tilsley, Her grandson John Campbell, Her parents William and Annabelle (Bird) Johnstone; Her brothers; James, Hector, Howard (Helen), and Tom Johnstone and numerous sisters and brothers -in-law.
The Funeral Service will be held on October 14, 2016 – 1:00 PM at the Birch Hills Civic Centre.
Arrangements in care of the Martens Warman Funeral Home.
Internment to follow at the Birch Hills Cemetery.
