It is with great sadness we share the passing of our dad. Wayne was born August 30, 1951, in Saskatoon, SK, to Harold and Norma Edmison. He is the eldest of 6 sons. He passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. Wayne was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Alvin, Terry and Eldon. He is remembered by his two children, son Jason (Kayla) and their daughter Everlee; daughter Ashley (Jeff) and grandchildren Nash, Meadow, Lyric and Kenley. He also leaves to remember him, his brothers Brian (Pam) and Richard (Tracy) and their families, as well as sister-in laws Donna and Rhonda and their families.
Wayne lived majority of his life in Saskatoon. As a child, he attended school at Mayfair and Evan Hardy, where he participated in sports with his brothers. Wayne spent most of his adult life working. Over the years, he was employed at McDonalds Consolidated, Fast-Frate and P.A Fine Foods. Wayne moved to Prince Albert later in his life, relocating for work and is where he ended his working career with P.A Fine Foods. Wayne retired in December 2020 at the age of 69. Wayne returned to Saskatoon in 2022 to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
As a younger adult, Wayne was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching numerous sporting events. Wayne spent many hours watching sports on TV and listening to his radio. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan and enjoyed many years watching the Saskatoon Blades and later the Prince Albert Raiders. As his grandchildren got older, he enjoyed watching them in their activities and school concerts when able to. Wayne was sure to never miss a birthday phone call and card for his children and grandchildren.
Wayne was one to chit chat with anyone around him, getting to know those who he passed by on his daily walks or spending an extra 10 minutes getting to know the person changing his car oil, packing his groceries or filling his gas tank. We know he left a little bit of joy everywhere he went, talking about his grandchildren.
