Harold Rinholm passed away at the Birchview Nursing Home, Birch Hills SK on December 30, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Harold was born near Hagen SK with very strong Norwegian roots. His parents, Christen and Paula, had come from Norway and brought with them much of the Norwegian culture. They settled in the Hagen area where they farmed and raised their family. Harold attended school at both Superior School and Harmony School where he was educated, played sports and was possibly just a little bit mischievous. Harold started farming around the age of 17 and worked along-side his dad to learn the ins and outs of what it meant to be a good farmer. Harold and his sweetheart, Stella Pushie, were married in 1947 and in 1954 they built their home, a quarter mile south of where he was raised. In 1956 Harold and Stella were blessed with their son, Curtis, and in 1984 their grandson, Greg and in 1985 a beautiful granddaughter, Kelli. Countless hours were spent at the farm with Gramma and Grampa playing, farming, baking, learning, laughing and loving. There were also many visits with family and friends over the years at the farm, at the cabin at Waskesiu and in Mesa, Arizona where they spent many winters. All were welcomed at any time, day or night, for a meal or a cup of coffee and some baking, which there was always an abundance of. Harold was very involved in the community with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, the local Co-op, and anywhere his willingness to help others would take him. He had many interests including; baseball, golfing, fishing, time spent at Waskesiu, card & board game playing, dancing, camping, hockey, curling and bowling. Harold and Stella farmed until the fall of 2011 when their health demanded they move off the farm. Harold is lovingly remembered by: his wife of 65 years: Stella (Pushie); his son and grandchildren: Curtis, Greg and Kelli; his sisters and brother: Alma Swenson, Judith Cameron, Einar (Sonja Andvaag) Rinholm; his sisters-in-law: Magdalen (Pushie) Warder, Jean (Pushie) McKnight and Fran (Sholinder) Pushie (Tom Hodgins); and his close cousin: Otto (Margot Baker) Opseth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Harold was predeceased by his parents: Christen and Paula Rinholm; his sister and brother: Edith (Meeds) Bjork and Carl Rinholm; his father and mother-in-law: Robert and Sylvia Pushie; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Cory Meeds, Victor Bjork, Leslie Swenson, Leslie Cameron, Delores (Bird) Rinholm, Arthur Warder, Arthur and Josephine (Lamoth) Pushie, Keith and Shirley (Pushie) Firth, Lyall Pushie and Wayne McKnight; and his close cousin: Ivar Opseth.
