In October, 1947 Slim married Pearl Haddon and together they raised four children Florence, Doug, Bill and Gloria. In January 2000 Slim lost his soul mate Pearl and life became more of a challenge. However, he managed and he and Bill resided together until the time of his death. There were many ups and downs in Slims life but one of the biggest blows was when he lost his son Doug in 1967. Highlights included 52 years of marriage to Pearl and the births of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Slim loved his family including his siblings, nieces and nephews.
Slim was predeceased by his wife Pearl, his son Doug, parents Jim & Justina, parents-in-law Horace & Agnes Haddon. He is survived by his children Florence (Einar) Nielsen, Bill Prete, Gloria (Greg) L'Henaff, his grandchildren Dawn (Trevor) Johnson, Lori (Tyler) Fettes, Richard (Tracey) Nielsen, Jamie (Julian) Woods, Leanne (Cameron) Kirzinger, Shane L'Henaff and Chelsy Lundbach.
