It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold P. Lokken, a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Father, and Grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Kaitlin (Richard) MCELLIGOTT, and his grandchildren Easton and Blake of Birch Hills, SK. He is also survived by his parents Mervin & Olive LOKKEN, of Estevan, SK. His siblings: Calvin (Wendy) LOKKEN of Prince Albert, SK.; Lloyd LOKKEN, of Estevan, SK.; Crystal (Derrick) HELM, of Lampman, SK.
He is survived by nephews Jonathan, Kyle, Hailey, and Jeremy HELM, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and family and friends who knew and loved him.
Harold Lokken was born on March 23, 1967, a Centennial Year to Mervin and Olive Lokken, he was their little bundle of pride and joy. Harold kept them busy each day with new adventures and kept his later siblings Calvin, Crystal, and Lloyd entertained. They shared many adventures together and created many fond memories, like when he was a Commissioner in Prince Albert and held his head high in uniform.
Harold grew up to love and had one daughter Kaitlyn who he loved dearly and cherished his grandchildren. He was so proud to be a father and grandfather.
As a peaceful man, he enjoyed getting out in nature and bought himself a 1984 Ford Camper Van. With this newfound home on wheels, he traveled to B.C. and visited family and friends. He would search for gold, but time with Harold was gold. He loved to tinker with his van and worked tinkering on many projects with his dad in the garage. He shared cups of coffee with his mom and watched tv with her. He would sit with family by the fire and share fond memories. He met many of his friends at Wal Mart. He told others how important they were to him. He was always willing to help others.
Harold had a passion for cars and trucks. As a skilled mechanic, he was always willing to teach everyone he met his skills, and by the end of a conversation the tire pressure was checked at the very least on their vehicle, and other things looked at.
Harold was able to share his memories of his travels with others over water, a cocktail, or a drink, laughing, and putting a smile on your face. He would watch old movies with Crystal and play frogger and share drinks with Derrick, singing Karaoke with them in the garage making a joyful noise. He worked with his brother Lloyd on his BMW car. He shared his stories with anyone who would listen. He spent hours with his nephews and nieces sharing time that was so precious to him.
Harold competed with Calvin to buy a 1984 Oldsmobile, with Calvin buying it first. The car had no ignition keys, but Harold later ordered keys for it from Amazon and proudly passed the keys on to his brother for a few bucks of course. Harold loved trading cars and fixing them up to make a buck. With his creativity making a gasket out of an Old Dutch Chip box. Harold was a creative man with a good heart and would always help others find any part needed. He was creative and his creative spirit is still reaching out to others but from the other side. He will be dearly missed & cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Harold was predeceased by his grandparents, Melvin and Ila LOKKEN, Philip and Albertine BRUNEAU; his cousin Dena Bruneau; Uncle Jules Bruneau and Aunt Rita Ross.
