Family..
Where life begins and love never ends
It is with great sadness that our family announce the passing of Harold on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Harold was born in Saskatoon on October 21st, 1931. His family then homesteaded in Mildred, Saskatchewan, moving into Prince Albert in the late thirties. He married Kay in June of 1955, and they had four children who lit up his life. He worked for the CNR for 41 ½ years and his knowledge of trains and old locomotives was immense. After retirement, he and Kay moved to their cabin on Christopher Lake and lived there for 17 years before moving back into Prince Albert. Harold was a man of great integrity and kindness. He had a kind word for anyone and had a wonderful sense of humour. His wit will be a source of many great memories for years to come as we remember his stories and one-liners. Many of his happiest moments were when family and friends gathered together. He has instilled the importance of family in each of his children and grandchildren. He was always smiling and laughing as his family gave him such joy and sense of pride. He and Kay spent many countless hours following the endeavors of their grandchildren. He was always one of their biggest fans. In addition to spending time with family, Harold was also a member of the Lions Club. Harold is survived by his beloved wife Kay; his four children Carol (Byron), Bob (Cheryl), Calvin (Lynn) and David (Lana); thirteen grandchildren, Kara, Brett, Dylan and Theran Yeo, Ashley (Dane), Aaron and Brandon Manson, Andrew and Reid Manson, Joshua, Meagan, Emma and Ben Manson. He is also survived by his two sisters Margaret and Donna (Ralph); sister-in-law Janet and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents James and Dorothy Manson; sister Louise and brother Jim. At Harold’s request there will be no funeral. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
